Lingual STb Braces Coventry

The Lingual STB system is a metal brace unlike any you have seen before. Fixed on the inside of the teeth the brace is virtually invisible. Unlike normal fixed braces that are applied to the front of the teeth, Lingual STB braces are attached to the back of the teeth through the use of dental cement.

Lingual braces come in various forms but at Coventry Braces we offer the STB Light Lingual System.

Lingual STB braces are similar to Invisalign braces as they are specifically made to suit each individual’s teeth and are of a discreet nature.

Treatment involves tiny metal pieces known as ‘brackets’ being fixed onto the teeth. Through the attachment of arch wires the brackets are then able to be connected together. Lingual braces are suitable for both the top and bottom teeth.

For those who wish to choose a discreet type of brace but are unable to go with aligners the Lingual system is an ideal alternative, meaning no need for more noticeable systems such as ceramic or metal braces.

This type of treatment is unsuitable for children who still have primary teeth or cases in which teeth are too small. Orthodontic problems it can fix include the following:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Malocclusion (when caused by crooked teeth)
  • Extensively spaced teeth
  • Rotated teeth

The Advantages of Lingual STB

Advantages include:

  • Comfortable fit
  • Minimal effect on speaking or tongue soreness compared to other types of lingual braces
  • Visually pleasing
  • Unobtrusive

The Lingual STB process

Adapting to this unfamiliar object in your mouth will take only a short time once the brace is attached. Discomfort is kept to a minimum with the Lingual STB system and it will be no time before you are speaking normally. Routine check-ups should be maintained with your orthodontist in order to monitor the progress of treatment and to ensure tooth decay does not develop.

Treatment time will range from 1 to 3 years.
